Winter Hill

Winter Hill

This is the very first time that I painted on a Full Imperial sheet of paper. I was terrified so I opted for an easy snow scene and to be honest, I was very pleased with the outcome. I had it mounted and framed in Beech and it took pride of place in the lounge.

Then I took it to our local amateur art exhibition and to make sure nobody bought it, I put a ridiculous price of £150 on it. And someone bought it!!!

Watercolour & Pen. Took 2 hours to complete.

Very nice!!
by: Balaji

I am not surprised that it was grabbed. The painting is very nice.

There is a suggestion of a hill in the distance. [At least on my monitor it is only a faint suggestion :-)] I think the picure would be even more striking if the hill was slightly more visible.

Hi Tom,

Never, never undersell youself. I learned the hard way and was practically giving my stuff away.

If someone wants to put their hand in their pocket then so be it and why not it is a lovely painting -

I sold a watercolour last week - it was never shown on this gallery as it was on display in local garden centre and someone bought it! Good feeling.

Regards,

Dorothy

How lucky was that Tom, well deserved though, it's a wonderful painting! Quarter imperial is my limit, so I admire your bravery!

I like it
by: Dave

I like this painting, the trees, snow and buildings are nice, the rock walls look great. The only comment I would make is that the shadows on the left side of the right side wall should not be that dark. All in all, nice work.
