Will certainly try this on sanded paper as after using for one picture my second finger was a little more than just sore!, so consequently the remaining sheets are still under the bed!!.
Finger cots (little rubber slipcovers for fingers often used in medical services) are also super for blending, keeping the pastels off of your fingers and protecting your fingers from wear. (I also use them for pratical things like caulking--which if done enough, can make your fingertips bleed.)
You can get them in any drugstore.
