Tulips in the spring

by Marilyn
(Canada)

I'm a novice painter and this is one of my attempts to capture tulips. I painted this on cold press paper and had used DaVinci artist color paints. I would appreciate a critique of this as I have never had formal art lessons but I intend to. Thanks in advance.

Overall you have done well. Flowers are a very challenging subject. To hone your skills try doing only one flower as a subject.

Hi,

I want to thank you for taking the time to look at my work. I haven't taken any formal lessons and I am reading a lot and working with a friend who is very good.

I think if this is your first go at painting flowers I think you have done well, as it is not easy painting flowers. Keep at it. Cheers Owen.

I think the tulips could be a little more open. Like the colors. Keep trying.
