The Eye

This was my first big piece done on a 20x28 canvas using basic craft store acrylics. I have no background in art, I just enjoy it as a hobby.

This picture was inspired by my living room. We had just purchased new furniture and I needed a painting to pull all the colors together. I completed this in two hours. I had no idea what I wanted to paint, I just made a big stroke and went from there and it all came together in the end.

The title {The Eye} came from my children they because they said it resembled an eye. I was most challenged by not being able to blend the colors better because I used those Folk Art acrylics not the real thing, and just plain inexperience. But- I'm willing to learn which mediums and art materials to use to create great works of art.

Overall I'm very pleased, I get tons of compliments and people ask who the artist is, I tell them me, and they're like WOW.
