Dear Karla,

I plan to sell my painting when I'm confident enough with my watercolor skills.

I really love your watercolors, they are about the best I have seen lately. Keep it up! Do you sell your art or promote it in any way?

I really appreciated your response , the only part I would darken would belong to the bridge (guess I wasn't clear) . I'd keep the water the same color . Have fun . Mary ps too bad the star thing is there at all .. I don't feel that kind of system is of any value .

Dear Dorothy,

Actually, I just follow strictly as per composition appeared in Derwent's sketching tutorial. So I didn't give much thought about the influence of the rocks to the bridge. After you clarify your views, I began to see your point.

Dear Mary
My initial thoughts were to make the river feel 'it's still flows through' after the bridge. I perceived earlier that if I were to darken the colors under the bridge, the river will look as if it ends below the bridge. Maybe I should try to make a dark strip on a transparent sheet and go over the picture to see if its suitable to darken the tone under the bridge for shadow.

Thank you to both of you. :)

A beautiful water color... The medium I use and love best. May I suggest that you "lose" the large rocks in the background. Also use the same color and the bridge that you used for the water and for the bridge keep some of the darkness but put lines on it. Just my first thoughts.

Rocks
by: Dorothy, Cambs

Lovely use of the medium, but I find all the rocks a trifle large they swamp the bridge and make it secondary not the focal point
