Great suggestion.

Thanks Bob - I have tried rough but didn't like the flow on the paper though I could see how it could add texture to a particular scene. However, I tried a very cheap brand of rough paper caller Pro-Art. I am going to look for the Bockingford you suggested since I so like their cold press.

Thanks for the info. on watercolor paper. Don't know if I can find Bockingford paper I will search for it as I would like to try it. I have used hot pressed paper and like it for flowers, fruits and veggies. I also used a lot of 140lb paper, think I would like to try the 200lb paper.
Thanks again for the great tip. Wishing everyone a great Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year.

thanks for the info ..nto sure my art store sells the recommended paper but perhaps it can be special ordered . I use acquarello ,140pds,coldpress,fine grain for most of my work .

I was given several 11x15" sheets of Saunders Water Ford paper which is incredable for animals and birds .

I've only been drawing and painting for a year and haven't really explored expensive paper yet .

I love watercolors and this amazing adventure that came my way in my senour years . Have a great Christmas day. Mary
