Sunset in India

Hi there. This is my creation on a 14"x9" watercolor paper. This is my first sunset ever. I found it very challnging to creat the reflextion on the water though I'm not that happy. If any kind soul give their valuable feedback; it'll be truly appreciated.

we are here , in part to encourage each other . I love seeing what others have done . You seem to have a nice grasp on water . What I do when I want to learn how to do something is get library picture books on the subject and Google for images .

Trust me you are your best teacher ... so do more paintings with water and do some more ...then send them for us to enjoy and critique . Mary

Thank you everybody for your precious time to comment on my work. Can you do me a favour once again? Can you tell me "How to draw realistic water during day time and night as well?"
Thank you.

there is a peaceful quality that you have captures ..I agree with the comments so far and may I suggest doing the hills a light blue or purple . I've found often what works in a photo just doesn't work in art . The sunlight looks like you did it after the water . May I suggest puttung a light wash of the water color over all the water . well done ..aren't watercolors awesome and fun !!! Mary

Horizon
by: Dorothy, Carluke

Hello,

I love the colours in your painting and also the foreground but I think the horizon is bowing. Perhaps if you do this painting again a straighter horizon would help.

Just my thought.

reflection
by: Dorothy, Cambs

The reflection is the best part you did very well with this.

In the sky the red would be better if it faded out into the yellow gently, and I am a trifle concerned with the hard edge of your clouds, you could soften them with a damp brush
