River scene

Hi I did this painting today from an old sketch book of drawings I did in Scotland a few years ago. Its 12x8 inches and is on Bockingford rough paper . the colours are Raw & burnt Sienne, Raw & burnt Umbre, Paynes Grey and Windsor Blue. I was trying to give a sence of the mist clearing and the sun trying to come through the mist.I think it might be a little better if about two inches were cropped off the bottom maybe. Ging

Beautiful!!! The rocks have very realistic reflections. I'd like to visit this place. Don't crop it!

Lovely Misty Feeling
by: Dorothy , Carluke

Hi Ginger,

I think you have captured the misty feeling of early morning. I like the limited palette you have used. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

True landscape
by: Dilip Bhalerao

Hi Ginger
I have special liking for landscapes. You have got everything right in this painting. Light & shadow and the perpective are the essential factors for any landscape and your painting has it all. I do not think it necessary to crop the painting from the bottom, the feeling is due to the size of the paper you have used. Hope to see more work from you--Dilip Bhalerao, India

Lovely

Hi Ginger, it looks very much like a misty morning, well done, perhaps a few shadows at the base of the trees. I don't think it needs cropping, lovely as is. Pearl
