Ilike your use of acrylic as I tend to chuck it on like oil paint! As much as I would like to get a more delicate painting, it inevitably fails!! Love the way you've captured the light a nd overall I think this is a lovely painting. nice one!

It has a certain liveliness about it that inspires quiet reflection. Your choice to use quick drying acrylic as a wash is interesting and understandable.

I love it when someone does a self portrait ..you have captured 'your artist within'. Nice low light study , perhaps the back of the hand could be a tad lighter and more defined . I've found ..for me .. while total black works in photos I perfer to suggest form .

I really like how you've used the low lighting in this portrait. I agree with Mary that perhaps the back of the hand could be a touch lighter showing more definition and perhaps the eyes aligned but I think it is a very expressive portrait.

nicely done -only critism is the darkness on the hand needs blending in more.
