i used 300lb not water colour paper,(aquarelle), it was copied from a picture in a book ,i am a novice , i have a lot of time on my hands as i am mostly house bound through disability so i decided to have a try, i just thought it was lovely and secluded and tried to imagine being there, and whilst i was painting it

i could imagine it partly, it is approx 6" x 8".i used W & N water colour paints. it is my first and only seascape. i would like to paint some canal paintings .and i have asked a friend of mine to take some photos of the local canals so i can have a go ,so watch this space .

Job well done!
by: Linda W

I stumbled across this site today. I realize this painting was submitted a couple of years ago, but have to say it is a job well done. You have a natural talent and I hope you are able to get to some classes to really shine. My son has a severe disability so I know how difficult it can be to get around, but I hope you will find a way. Good work!

Great job given your disability!
by: Jill

I too have troubles (cerebral palsy and vision problems) which make drawing difficult when it comes to perspective, depth and getting things to be to scale, so I feel for you in that regard. I would love to be sitting in this very spot!

Nice job.

For a first timer, I would say excellent job.
I love the way the grass seems to be blowing toward the water...I can almost imagine someone sitting nearby in the grass or on a rock drawing this.

Some comments say that it appears to be going up hill , it does not look like this on the painting i can only presume a trick of the light or the photo is not straight .Ta Bill

Great effort on the grass and road. Too bad the water is flowing uphill. I always have trouble with water... keep trying... just change the strokes.
