Safety Pin

Surface: Black Paper

Size: 12x18in

This was one of our art project. We had to use charcoal and pastel to creat an art piece. I choose to do this one because of I thought it would be new and challenging to draw the details of the reflection.

Nothing was really challenging but I had a hard time trying to make the proportion right. I was glad that the reflection turned out well expressed and how this safety pin looks 3-dimensional. Next time, I would try to express the shadows better and create a soft and even background.

I also drew the "Calm Seashore" in watercolor and made a self portrait with Magazine (titled, "Self-Portrait (Aaron)." Please leave any comments on my artwork.
Thank you.

Aaron

What a great way to use an everyday item as an art subject! Nicely done.

I think that your art piece looks so real. It has the "metal look" down to a 'T'.
I cannot draw very well, but can appreciate what it takes to get the right look - Well drawn in my opinion.

Hi Aaron:
What patience.....what dedication! A safety pin......I would never have considered the lowly safety pin as a subject for an art project. You now have me looking around the house for possible subjects.
You appear to have a very interesting art course with an imaginative instructor.
Your work is very inspiring...hope to see lots more.
