Recyled Pen/Pencil Containers and Paint Mixing Cups

I enjoy those sugar-free fruit flavored drink, tea and lemonade mixes that are typically sold with 5-6 little cups holding a pitcher's worth of the powder inside a larger plastic container. (One brand is Crystal-Light but there are many different types out there.)

Conveniently, these are recyclable for use with art supplies. Remove the label and use the tall plastic container to hold gel pens, markers, colored pencils and shorter brushes. The plastic cover seals the items inside for transport. For fun and ease of identification the containers can also be labeled, personalized and decorated with stickers, pens and markers!

Once washed and those dried small cups that held the drink powder are ideal for mixing small amounts of paint or dispensing glue or holding beads or other small items during projects. Even cooler is that these cups stack easily and a large amount of them can be saved and stored right back in one of the original containers.

Enjoy a greener art experience!
