Princess Di

I done this on A4 printer paper using a selection of pencils. I drew this from a picture that I downloaded from the web and printed out in black & white to make it easier for me to see the diffirent degrees of shading.

As always I'm having problems with the mouth but practice makes perfect and one day I will crack it.
The face could be a little bit longer but I'll definitely be trying another Princess Di in the near future and see if I can improve on it.

I scanned my picture but lost some quality when I rotated it clockwise to the panorama view as you now see it.

It took me 4 or 5 lunch breaks (45mins each) in my truck to complete. Such a relaxing pass time I wish I had discovered this many years ago.

All comments and suggestions are as always very welcome.

Thanks, Grant.

PS I'm looking forward to the new web site format. Sounds great.

I see that maybe it is not perfect, but I really enjoy looking at it, it is relaxing but have something magic in the atmosphere. (it looks like she's somewhere else with her mind...)

I agree that practice will help you have wonderful results, my best wishes and... go on.

Grant,
Very good drawing. As you have noticed the face is too short. This could be because of the angle of the chin resting on the hand.

I think this should now be done in another medium, which will help to give depth and form to the picture. Well done!
