Papillon

by Audrey
(Brittany, France)

Acrylic on Canvas on board 24 x 30cm. This was inspired by a photo I found on the internet. I found it quite tricky to get the markings on the butterfly correct and don't think I was careful enough with it. I was surprised how the flower stood out when I blurred the background. I varnished it and wondered if other artists use varnish on acrylic as I have found it quite tricky in the past and almost ruined a painting because the varnish dried too quickly.

Lighten

Audrey,

I like this but I think perhaps you could lighten the green behind and below the wings just a shade this would give the wings more definition but it is just a thought.

Dorothy
