Painting Winter Trees
Painting winter trees in watercolor is a subject that worries a lot of newcomers to painting. Because the leafless tree is fully exposed, they're concerned about getting the trunk and the branches looking right.
In this tutorial video - the second in the series of painting trees - we look at the basic techniques involved and some of the pitfalls to avoid.
Once you've looked at the video, I think you'll agree that with just a little practice, you'll be much more confident about painting winter trees in watercolor.
Oh, and as a bonus, you'll find loads of other tips such as painting tree shadows, putting in a 'supporting cast' of features to act as a backdrop for the trees and even how to paint a wintery sky to complement your picture.
