Paint Horse

Pencil sketch on bristol paper, 11 x 14 inches, most pleased with how the neck creases turned out, would choose something different for the bridle if I were to do it again.

Just starting pencil and I really like it, it's a bit more forgiving than some of the other media, which I also do. I have a paint horse, so I love them and we travel to shows in Canada and the U.S.

I really like this ...i can 'see' all of the horse in my mind's eye . This summer while driving with a friend she stopped so I could sketch a beautifull stallion , his mares and colt . I sat just on the other side of an electric fence and the stallion came over . He not only decided I was OK but struck a majestic pose ..unfortunatly a foot away . So I did studies of his legs and hooves . I was afraid if I moved he would too and I so enjoyed his company . I was allowed not only to touch him but also his mares and colt . Before i left he 'kissed' my hand . I envy that you have a horse ...it is one dream that has never come true for me .
I would be nice to know your name too (grin)
