Mother of Sorrow

by joliza duag
(Macrohon, So. Leyte, Philippines)

I use water color in making this picture. actually, i copied this from a little novena book but i made it 6 times bigger..i'm using only black and white water color and a black signpen (.10) for the outline) and i did it in a linen cartolina.

Well, am not really good coz i was not given the opportunity to be come a professional artist... besides, am busy with my work so i can hardly do my favorite hobby... i did this almost four years ago on a holy week... i was reading this spiritual/novena booklet and i found that image of the Blessed Mother and was deeply captured by picture..it reminds me of how much pain she felt when she saw her son, Jesus, crucufied and died on the cross...

That's what inspires me to do this drawing... it's just that it wasnt made that good because of the atmosphere at home and im not being comfortable with my workspace..am just hoping you like the pic..thanks for viewing!

Sorrowful Image
by: Clara Simpson

Heres my offer to you, I really like your work. I like that mother of sorrow picture, but if you can copy or produce me a mother of perfectual image, the same as in Baclaran in pasay city.

Mother of Perfectual I plan to buy that in Baclaran when I'll take vacation, but if you can made it for me, I'd rather buy from you.

In that doing I can help you a little on your financial needs. Just give me the price after I received the painting, I will pay you.

I hope this will give you inspiration, you are talented and used it, especially about God, you will be blessed. Hope to hear from you.

Mother of Sorrow
by: Helen

I think it is beautiful Joliza.

I also think you underestimate yourself. You have a lot of talent and I think you should continue with it whenever you can. Not everyone can capture the softness of material or expression. I think you did that extremely well.

Best Wishes
Helen

Hi Joliza,

The expression in her face is very good. I can see her sorrow and her pain.
I also like the details of the clothing.
Very well done!

Hello Joliza,

I like your painting. I like the way you have capture her sorrow and anguish. Her hands are very expressive.

The way you have painted the folds of her garment is really lovely.

I'm glad you are able to enjoy painting and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Regards,

Dorothy
