ManyMasks

I am a novice at art, in every sense of the word, but I've always wanted to draw and paint, so we will see how it goes. So far I am really enjoying it.

I did this drawing on just a normal sketch pad and colerd pencils, with some pastel. It is 11'x14'.

I seem to be inspired mostly by my own emotions that I'm quiet sure others experience too, love, hate, disappointment, saddness, etc. I'm really not sure exactly what I'm trying to achieve, but to express my innerself without saying it outloud. Some things are just better left unsaid right?

This drawing wasnt really hard for me, because I had seen it in my mind so many times b4, but the coloring was something of a guess. Although I am reasonably pleased wtih it, I would love to hear any comments about the drawing, wheather negative or positive, all comments or suggestions are very much welcome.

Wow! Thank you so much. This is one of the first pencils I'd ever done. It came completely from my heart.
I love the suggestions everyone has made and I'm thinking of a re-do using all suggestions.
Thank you all so much. Encouragement from my peers means so much to me. I'll be submitting the new painting soon, again thank you!

I love colored pencils too!

I really liked this. Very simple colors and the masks definitely do express the different emotions. I thought of the comedy/tragedy masks right away as well.

welcome to your creativity ...keep on keeping on . My only suggestion is that even masks need shadows to show form better ... the outer edges as they are almost 1/2 circles ,cheek hollows ect . I like the colors and composition .

The idea is great ,you are on to something that could be developed further, i agree with the comment that shadows would deepen the work.well done for origionality. PHIl
