Make believe flowers

by Eun
(UK)

I started painting about three years ago, and manage to do about two or three a year. This one was done in 2005. I used Not watercolour paper with Windsor and Newton paints. I was just messing around with blending colours and decided to use this as an insert for a birthday card, so size approx 7" x 7".

I started making cards some time ago but now I want to spend any spare time painting as it really pleases me when something turns out ok.

flowers

Hi Eun,

A good start, this painting.
My only comment is, that it seems as if the vase is flying in the air.
Perhaps you can paint an indication of a table, and darken the background a little, so that there is more balance.

But you definitely have to go on painting, it looks good!

Make Believe Flowers
by: Mops

Hi Eun:
Very dainty....nice colours, but you have a lot of negative spaces, and the flowers are floating in the air.Your cute little pot would look great with a bit of shading to "round" it a bit.
Just my thoughts,
Mops
