landscape of scotland

by irene ann

This is something different for me I used watercolour to do this painting. I have taken the picture from a book and changed the colours to try to create this painting.

All input welcome

you certainly have the touch for watercolors .

try making the blue in the sky darkest at the horizon and fading as you go up .

Really nice painting

Hi Irene Anne,

I like your painting. I especially like the way you have painted the white cloud it adds to the perspective of the painting and the way you have faded the sky down behind the hills. Did you use Raw Sienna?

There is only one little thing I would suggest to you is to slightly darken the foreground water of the loch.

Where is it by the way as I feel I know this place?

Hi Irene Ann,

Nice landscape.
I only miss some reflections of the mountains in the middle of the painting.
The reflection of the left mountain is just a line, I suggest to fill in the reflections of the mountains in the same colours as the mountains itself.
I know it's difficult in watercolour, perhaps you can use my suggestions in the future.

But I think the atmosphere and the colours of the mountains are very well done.
