Full Bloom

I used MDF board and synthetic brushes for this painting, medium tended to slide around a bit Painted the background first, which I think complements the flowers!! size 10"x14", Please feel free to comment as I need all the help I can get.I seem to have untold problems taking and citing the picture, maybe I need to update my camera the flash appears in some of my takes, Cheers Joyce.

My favourite flower.Your painting looks alive and the colours are wonderful.

You might like to try using a camera tripod which you can obtain quite cheaply these days (about £10 here in the North East Of England).
A tripod setup to take photos on the floor would work and with the advantage of no nasty shake :-)

Hi Joyce, lovely painting, the back ground colours are perfect but I agree the photo could be better. Try laying the painting on the floor or ground and lean over it slightly, the painting will be flat and outside there will be no need for a flash. Any cropping can be done more easily as well. Cheers Pearl

Love it!

Hi there Joyce, I loved your painting and having done it the other way around I think painting the background works better at least then you don't paint over the actual thing you want people to see.
With regards to the camera flash I found that if I stand a bit to the side of the item I get a better picture of it and the flash doesn't seem to interfere, short of that you can open it in a "photo" program and change/add your own lighting focus which helps to get rid of the "flash". Just a thought. None the less, keep on painting, ecause what you're doing is great to look at and enjoy!

cheers

Hi Joyce, try either bouncing the flash off a white oiece of papaer held above the subject or to avoid too much glare, cover the flash device on the camera with a white tissue.your painting is very attractive and I bet even more striking in the flesh!
