Cape Cod Bay

WaterColor Paper

10 x 12 inches
I wanted to see if I could paint waves that looked real.
The breaking water at the top of the wave and the falling water were the most difficult.
I was pleased with the final colors.
I would try to give the picture a more relaxed look.

Learning Process

Hi Sonya:
Thanks for the comments. This was done in acrylics and my first attempt at painting water. I admit it was pretty difficult since I painted in oils for many years and am still getting used to using acrylics. I hope to do better next time.

hi judith,
i am an aspiring and struggling watercolor learner. i think water colors are quite difficult. i will not say that your creation looks very much like water--more like an angry sky, but that aside, i think the effects of so many different colors and shades is fantastic. also you dont seem to have messed up and then repaired anything. it is an amazing piece of work.
