Your drawing is excellent you do not need any details on it. I think it is really good do not change how you draw.

Keep practicing.

You need more contrast with darks and lights. I would like to see your reference, don't be afraid to be more drastic you can't go wrong nor make any mistakes.

Your picture is beautiful. I love horses with a burning passion and you painting is just exquisite. Don't let any one tell you different... If they don't like it, then they just don't like it. But, I LOVE IT!

Study More
by: Anonymous

You must scan the web and take a look at others works.

First of all. Do you know anything about horses? It helps to know how their bodies work in unison.

Horses require a lot of studying. If you look at photos you will notice that the head is similar to a light bulb. But, you must tone down the chin bone. Then you will notice that the ears gone down into the face muscle. The ears are horses guide to what is going on around them. It shapes their face muscles.

Also, at the section where the neck starts at the back of the head. You will notice that turned in a certain direction you will see a 'V' shaping. There's a lot to learn about them.

So, my suggestion...is learn as much about them as you can. Clear your mind and only work on horses until you get it correct.

Good try though. Don't give up.

Morning ,

The sketch is wonderful , my suggestion is to do softer lines . Take a round brush . load it with water and go over the outline of the horse , her hair (don't get caught up capturing indidual hairs .. you'll go nuts) and make her eyes less detailed and bigger . Feel free to e-mail me at walkswithcree@sympatico.ca .... you have talent so keep at it . Mary
