Setting up a group is very easy. Simply go to the "Groups" tab and click "Create a Group". You can then choose various settings for your group such as who can join, whether you want a forum and/or comment wall and so on.
What might be less obvious is why you would want to start a group...
A group simply links people together - people who have the same special interest for example, or people who live in the same area. For example, you might want to start a group for people that are interested in screen printing. You can then set up your own chat and forum to discuss that topic
Or let's say you want to start a 'real world' art class - a group of people who meet locally and paint together. A group helps you advertise for members and communicate with them easily.
There are lots of possibilities for you to explore but remember... if you start a group you should have the ability to contribute to it afterwards

The group founder can choose whether other members can e-mail everyone in the group in one go (you can always contact individual group members by going to their profile pages.

If the group founder does allow members to e-mail the group in one go, you'll see a link "Send Message to Group" on the right of the group description. Simply click that link and type in your message for the group.
