Gone Fishin'

This is my first attempt at an original watercolor painting (no tutorial or demo). I mustered the courage after watching Bob's very helpful videos. I painted it on Arches 140 lb. cold pressed paper, finishing with a size around 10" x 5.5". My inspiration came from a childhood photo of me fishing with my brother and step-brother. I think I was around 8. First and foremost, I was just trying to put everything I had learned into a finished painting of my own. I was also trying to capture the laziness of a good day spent fishing. I had a difficult time creating clouds (I think my wash was too light), and I didn't achieve the sun burned look I was going for in the fields. That yellow thing in the sky is a crop duster which I painted too small. As my first painting, however, I am extremely pleased how it turned out, and I can't wait to frame this.
