girl in a blue hat

by Mary Fraser
(Great white North)

Done with mostly wet on wet on 12x18" 140lb paper . I am disappointed with the hair, the hand and shadowing. I feel I did not do justice to what was a fairly good sketch.

There is something original about it!

I think it's not so bad, Mary! The girl's eyes, for example, are rather expressive. I like their quiet sadness. Then, the shade of blue/green that you've created is soft and pleasant. No need to be disappointed at all.

DONT BE DISSAPOINTED

I LIKE THE INDIVIDUALITY OF THE HAND THE HAIR AND THE SHADOWING, WHY SHOULD THEY BE WRONG? IF YOU WERE PRESENTED THIS AND TOLD IT WAS A PICASSO OR SOME OTHER GREAT ARTIST, WOULD YOU NOT ACCEPT THE PIECE OF WORK AND TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHAT THE ARTIST WANTED TO ACHIEVE HERE? NO, REALLY IT IS GOOD.

WELL DONE

Hand & Eyes

Hi Mary,

Your girl has six finger!! You've been so engrossed in your work you've not noticed this.

Bring her eyelids a little lower, so that you do not see all of the iris.

Enjoy Christmas and Good Health in the New Year.

Dorothy
