geisha in pink

by bernadette
(Colmar, France)

That's one of the two geisha I painted last april. The original was a photo of a 17th century japanese painting done mostly in sepia. I felt free to "slightly" change the colours. It's painted on a rough, 400grs, hand-made paper.

Hi Bernadette:
Absolutely charming! So delicate and feminine. Love the muted colours.....the way the hair ties in with the kimono. Great balance.
