With much fear and trembling do I bring this painting. I'm a 50 plus and retired (so I have a bit of time on my hands) and this is my first painting (other than a couple of houses).

It is done with acrylics on a 16" x 20" canvas board. I have had a number of VW's over the years and have always had a special spot for them. This painting depicts one that has avoided the crusher.

I tried to be "free" with the color, using both brushes and knife to lay on the paint. I'm searching for my "style", not too interested in copying anyone else's work.

I was pretty pleased with the way the bug came out but not sure if I had enough variance in the foliage. I wanted to keep it fairly simple and not too overdone.

I hope to post more in the future, unless I'm told not to by you good people. Be honest please.
