Final details

I had a painting background to the point I liked and I was ready for the final details but was unsure what I wanted. I took a picture of the painting and downloaded it onto the computer. Next I printed the picture and drew the details that I was considering. This saves the trouble of doing it on the canvas first and not liking what was there. This may help to save time and trouble.

Safe way to see changes and verify colors
by: Anonymous

You can also put your blown up photo in a clear notebook photo holder or legal paper holder, and paint over the picture with new ideas or for color ref on top of the subject in question to verify correct color. Then wipe off when done with paper towel and a dab of terp.

What a clever concept
by: Shane Martin

This is such a fantastic idea. I have been working on a painting for a couple of weeks now, and had reached a point where I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Now I can try numerous options without the worry of destroying what I have already done.
Thanks again for the great tip.
