Bright colours

I have painted for years in acrylic and I find that using too much water will fade the colour and at the same time dull your painting. Try using paint straight from the tube, with a tiny bit of water if absolutely necessary, to make it flow, no more! Another tip is to wet the paper first before applying your paint straight from the tube.
