Bright colours

I have painted for years in acrylic and I find that using too much water will fade the colour and at the same time dull your painting. Try using paint straight from the tube, with a tiny bit of water if absolutely necessary, to make it flow, no more! Another tip is to wet the paper first before applying your paint straight from the tube.

I've used Windex and/or alcohol instead of water to thin acrylics. It seems to dull the paint less. Definately won't affect the tone any, (that I've noticed).
