Autumn (boyhood memories)
Hi this painting came to be from exercising the dog (Solomon).Im a disabled person and have difficulty in walking so I exercise the dog running along side of my electric wheelchair.
Whilst going up a leafy lane a couple of days ago I could not help but notice the colours of the fallen leaves, I collected some and brought them home to do some study work.I wanted to study their colours ,stucture and to practise my drawing. The conkers were lying on the ground and I took a photo and painted them from the photo.
I also found this to be a very good exercise in colour mixing, allowing the watercolours to mix on the paper which is 16x12inches in size. Im not sure what I was trying to achieve, the conkers brought back boyhood memories for me and i suppose I wanted to capture a realistic impression of them.
