Autumn Sunset

This is one of my first attempts at water colour. It is only 6" x 4" 140lbs/300gsm cold pressed/not and took me about an hour using a Cotman water colour sketch box which was a Christmas present.

I've only been painting for 3 months and am still finding my way through colour blending and how paint, water and paper react together. I'm very pleased with how the sky turned out (a happy accident) I found getting the reflections in the water the most difficult part of the picture.

This picture came out of my imagination, although it does remond me of a visit I made to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado a few years ago
