At The Wheel

The intensity of this character's focus on the task at hand inspired me to paint this image. The reference photo is in the reference image library of WetCanvas and the photographer is Jim Kook.


10 x 12 on Saunders Waterford 200 lb CP using a mix of DaVinci and MGraham artist grade paints.

Mainly a landscape painter, I really stepped out of my comfort zone on this one....

My intention was to create interest in his posture, intensity of what he was creating and the hand that was pulling up the clay.

I really enjoyed painting this one !!!

I just wanted to comment on your painting. I saw it and I was instantly drawn to it. The colors are very vibrant, your details are outstanding. It feels like I am standing in front of this old man watching him live. I can actually see the wheel spinning. You have done a terrific job and captured the moment. Great work!
