a cheap and effective palette which cleans easily

Buy one of those enammelled plates from your ironmongers or better still, try to get an old enamelled butcher's tray from a junk shop.

When you have finished painting, scoop off any unused paint you want to keep and dunk the tray in hot water. Even old dried paint will come off after a little scrubbing with a stiff brush. The paint will peel away easily.
Make sure you don't block the sink!

Use a ceramic tile as a pallet. Works a treat and is easy to clean afterwards. Just wash with soapy water and rub off the dried paint with a plastic scouring pad.

Plastic Egg Tray
by: Rosemary

I went to the dollar store (Family Dollar) and bought a clear plastic deviled egg tray which also comes with a lid. I took some white spray paint and sprayed the back of the tray so I could see the color better. I mix all my colors up for the painting. If you have to leave, spray the colors with water, put the lid on, and put in the refrigerator. When you return paints are just like you left them! Have fun painting!!

If you add a spoonful of washing powder to the water the paint will come off even without scrubbing...all you need is to wipe off.
