1. Video Tutorial of the Month - How to Draw Wheels in Perspective

When you draw wheels do they wobble and lurch at crazy angles? Do they look like they inspired Lee Marvin and that song on 'Paint Your Wagon' - even though they're not rolling...?

Getting wheels in the correct perspective is vital to give authenticity to a vehicle - or indeed any round shape viewed from an oblique angle.

2. Learn To Draw Figures Like A Master (Free Ebook)

For anyone who'd like to draw life-like figures with ease, here's an early Christmas present. It's a highly acclaimed book by Victor Perard that sells for up to $80. As a thank you for your continued support, please accept it as an early Christmas gift...

3. Poll - Do You Like The Stars?

When you comment on another visitor's artwork, you have the option to give it a rating of 1 to 5 stars.

It's a standard feature when posting comments on most websites but we have the ability to turn the stars off, so to speak.

On the one hand it gives those who receive 4 or 5 stars a nice little confidence boost. On the other hand, it may discourage newer artists who receive a lower rating (but then when they improve and get more stars it probably means a lot more).

It's your gallery so the choice is yours...

4. Step-By-Step Article - How To Mix Various Grays

Mixing grays (or greys - depending how you spell it in your part of the world) causes confusion for many artists. There's hundreds of potential grays available if you know what colors to mix - and it's not a simple matter of black and white either...

5. MySpace For Artists - Your Comments & Feedback

Well, the feedback has been simply overwhelming. We've had dozens and dozens of terrific suggestions for a site akin to a "Myspace for artists".

One word more than any other sums up the concept and that's... "community". The goal is to create a space for each artist that they can manage - a place to share their artwork and invite comments and feedback. But more than that...

You'll be able to create and join groups of like-minded people all under the protection of a platform that is safe and secure.

It's a biggie and will take some time and expense to develop but the response and enthusiasm warrants it. I'll be keeping you involved every step of the way - this will be very much a joint effort created in partnership by the people who will use it most.

That's it for this issue. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Best wishes...

Bob.
